Mouse Pointer Issue

I have also been having an issue with my mouse pointer at random times after the computer has not been used for a while (it's always on) I will come in to find my mouse pointer is no longer an arrow but a strait line with small angled lines of one side sometimes after moving the mouse around it will go back to normal but sometimes i have to reboot to get it back to normal I did not see this with any Vista machines kinda weird....
