AMD CPU's and GPU's Scarce

I don't know how many people are aware but there has been a real shortage of AMD stock for system builders at one point I could not get any Athlon XII at all even now stock is low and prices a bit higher than normal. Also they are struggling to keep up with GPU's here is some more info on what's going on

I recently bought my son a Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 ATX mobo. He is thrilled by it's expandability and OC ability, plus it can use the newest AMD CPU's when they come out.

He is currently using a three-core CPU he purchased, but I can find no information on it to help him with safely boosting his performance.

With little information available, what do you recommend in the way of settings to boost his performance?

well I would start with seeing if you can unlock the fourth core on that CPU I think with that board it can be done with a revision 2 bios
